Characterising of Plant Cover Evolution in the Aurès Region (Eastern Algeria)

A better understanding of the evolution vegetation cover is a major concern for countries where mountain ecosystems are undergoing severe degradation. Mediterranean woodland in general and those Algeria particular, suffering from numerous types degradation, be they climatic or anthropogenic. For this reason, to have issue how deal with it, we decided carry out study Aures Mountains (eastern Algeria), phenomenon degradation has direct impact on natural resources. The region was analysed, using remote sensing data (Landsat-type satellite images) over 33-year period (1984-2017). notably pronounced regressive plant attributed both phenomena climate change dieback (which particularly affected cedar groves) anthropogenic pressure (manifest fires, overgrazing, illegal cutting, etc.) exerted as whole. It will therefore become more than necessary take measures protect preserve region's rich ecological heritage.
